This 36 year old woman came to The Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery for an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) after she had a significant amount of weight loss. You can see that as a result of her weight loss she has a lot of excess sagging skin. She met with the plastic surgeon, Dr. Bivik Shah and he described to her the options she has. Deciding upon a tummy tuck meant that Dr. Shah would cut out all of her excess skin and fat, tighten the abdominal muscles, and pull her belly down tight giving it a very smooth appearance. With this particular incision, Dr. Shah also cut out the excess skin and fat vertically so that he could tighten the belly from side-to-side. As a result, she does have the scar that runs up and down her belly as well as across her panty line. 6.2lbs was removed specifically from her abdomen. This after photo was taken 10 months after surgery and the results will continue to improve. The scar will also improve over the next 7 months. At that point, this patient’s scar will look its absolute best!
