This is a 47 year old man from Dublin, Ohio who came to the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery for liposuction to the love handles (sides of the belly). The surgery was performed with tumescent liposuction and under IV Sedation (no general anesthesia) in the office at the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery in Ohio. During his plastic surgery, 2400 cc fat (more than a 2 liter pop bottle), which is about 6 pounds of fat. The scars for the liposuction are small and heal like a bug bite. His scars are on the back, one on each side and are barely visible. Also, after tumescent liposuction, his skin is tight and did shrink to give him a good shape. At the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery, all liposuction can be performed without general anesthesia (being put to sleep). After liposuction, many patients worry if their skin will shrink. Whether or not skin will shrink depends on a persons age, amount of fat removed, the quality of the skin, and if you have stretch marks or not.
