Our Augmentation Lift Offers Multiple Types of Enhancement

Having a healthy body with curves is considered a sign of femininity and attractiveness. But age, weight loss, pregnancy, and nursing all take a heavy toll on a woman’s body. Often, along with the face, the breasts are heavily affected in this process. Over time, they reduce in size and they sag, making women feel older than they actually are.

Reclaiming that perfect figure was once considered a dream. But today, an augmentation lift can make that dream a reality.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation, also called augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure done to increase the size of breasts. Through small surgical incisions, saline or silicone breast implants are inserted into the implant pockets. The implants are generally placed either below the pectoral muscles or under the mammary glands, just above the chest muscles.

However, if the breast tissues are too weak to support the weight of the breasts and they droop, breast augmentation alone cannot help. In these cases, an augmentation lift is likely the better option.

The Breast Lift

A breast lift involves the surgical removal of excess tissues around the areolae and below the breasts. The tissues are repositioned and tightened to get the necessary lift and then secured in place.

Based on the patient’s requirements from the surgery, plastic surgeons employ different procedures to customize the results. Lifts are classified based on the shape of the incision:

  • Donut (peri-areolar) lift – In this technique, an incision is made around the perimeter of the areola, and another circle is created around that first circle. This method is employed to correct mild sag.
  • Lollipop (vertical) lift – This option employs a lollipop-shaped incision to correct the position of the breast. An incision is made around the areola and then another is made vertically downwards from the bottom of the areola to the crease of the breast. It’s ideal for correction of moderate sag.
  • Anchor (inverted-T) lift – This method is used to correct severely drooping breasts. Three incisions are made: one around the areola, one vertically from bottom of the areola to the crease of the breast, and one along the breast crease.

Augmentation Mastopexy

In an augmentation-lift procedure, also known as augmentation mastopexy, a breast lift is paired with breast augmentation in order to correct the position of the areolae, address sagging, and increase breast volume and projection. This combination procedure requires only a single surgical session and a single recovery period, making it more convenient and cost-effective for the patient.

During an augmentation mastopexy, the breast augmentation is performed first, followed by the lift. Asymmetries may be corrected as needed, and areolae may be repositioned and resized to fit the breasts’ new proportions.
