Brazilian Butt Lift for a Natural Lift

    Published on August 20, 2014

Some people are born with small, uneven or flat buttocks.  Others, as they age, begin to notice a flattening and sagging of this area of their bodies.  No one needs to put up with this situation.  A butt augmentation and lift can make your buttocks full and round and voluptuous.

The Brazilian butt lift is a popular butt augmentation procedure that uses fat, transferred from another location on the body to increase the size and curvature of the buttocks.

Getting a Brazilian butt lift can improve the balance of your form while increasing the fullness and roundness of your figure.

A good candidate for this procedure is, first of all, a person who is dissatisfied with the size or shape of their rear, thinking it is too flat, saggy, asymmetrical or small.  Additionally the individual should be healthy and have realistic expectations regarding the results.

Since a Brazilian butt lift uses the patient’s own fat to increase the size of the buttocks, the surgeon takes excess fat from areas such as the abdomen, thighs, upper arms, or “love handles” thereby trimming the body shape as well.

A Brazilian butt lift is done under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation.  Your doctor will discuss these choices with you.  Once you have been given the anesthesia the procedure is begun.

The first step of a Brazilian butt lift is to remove fat from other parts of the body with liposuction.  These are called “donor” areas.

After the excess fat has been removed, it is purified and processed to make it ready for insertion into the buttock area.

Once properly prepared, the fat in injected into different depths and locations of the gluteus with an eye to giving the patient just the right size, shape and roundness they are looking for.

For patients who do not have enough fat of their own, implants can be used to give additional fullness.  The patient will have discussed this fully with the doctor prior to surgery.

Once the procedure has been completed, your surgeon or nurse will go over with you the “dos and don’ts” of recovery.

Patients are typically sent home with special compression garments covering the treated area. It is recommended that these be worn for the first two to four weeks following surgery.  This is done to reduce swelling.  The patient will likely experience some bruising and mild discomfort for several days to a week.

Typically you will be advised to avoid sitting or sleeping directly on the grafted buttock sites for up to two weeks.

Depending on lifestyle, patients can return to work and other regular activities as soon as they feel comfortable; usually after several days to one week.

The results from a Brazilian butt lift are visible immediately. However, the final shape and size will become evident after about a year. In the months following your surgery the projection of your butt may decrease and some of the volume will go down as some of the fat is absorbed back into your body.  On the average, patients will retain about 60% to 70% of the transferred fat.

Since a Brazilian butt lift is done using real fat taken from the patient’s own body, this fat will act like any other fatty area in the body.  The transferred fat can grow or shrink as you gain or lose weight.

In summation, a Brazilian butt augmentation can turn a flat, small, flabby buttock into one that’s larger, shapelier, rounder and more attractive, all while maintaining that completely natural feel.
