Buttocks Implants Can Fill Out That Flat Behind

    Published on May 19, 2017

When you look in the mirror, have you noticed a certain lack of proportion in your lower half? Let’s put it less delicately – do you feel like you have a flat butt?

Those feeling less than adequate when it comes to their behind can finally enjoy a permanent solution in the form of a buttocks augmentation with implants. This surgical procedure, also known as gluteoplasty surgery, endeavors to surgically fill out and enhance the buttocks area. This process makes the buttocks appear full, round, and curvy.

    An Informative Consultation

The best way to start out the buttocks augmentation process is with an informative consultation with a skilled surgeon. During the consultation, the surgeon carefully examines the patient’s anatomy to draw out a specific surgical plan to meet the desired parameters. The patient and surgeon work together to decide on details of the procedure.

It will be necessary for the patient to disclose their medical history and discuss any medications they are taking currently. This is the best way to avoid any sort of complications.

As part of the consultation, the surgeon will likely recommend that the patient avoid smoking in the weeks leading up to the procedure and in the weeks following it; smoking can cause the need for a lengthier recovery process.

What to Expect with the Surgical Process

Once the patient is on the operating table, the surgeon positions them for best exposure of the area to be operated on. Both the face-down position and the lateral position (where the patient lies on their side) are common.

The process of enhancing a flat buttocks by implanting gluteal implants is very similar to that of breast augmentation with implants. First, the patient is gradually administered with the correct volume of anesthesia.

An incision is then created in the buttocks. More specifically, this incision is made at the top of the crease of the buttocks. The implants are inserted through the incision and are carefully positioned on top of the muscles. The surgeon makes sure that the implants are placed in a manner that is symmetrical.

Finally, the incision is sealed using medical sutures, and the incision site is then bandaged. This brings the operation to a close.

    The Recovery Period

Now that the surgical enhancement is complete, emphasis is placed on the patient’s general recovery. Following the surgeon’s post-operative care instructions as closely as possible is vital for preserving the integrity of the results and for having a comfortable recovery process.

The patient is advised against any strenuous physical activity for at least three weeks after the surgery. Staying home from your job for a time may be recommended.

The doctor also advises proper procedures to take care of the incision. A compression garment will be worn to help minimize post-operative bruising and swelling.

Visible results are immediate and distinct, and the desired body contours should become fully evident after about six months to a year (enough time for the tissues to fully settle).
