    Celebrity Nose Jobs: “Purely Medical”

    Published on July 9, 2013
Few celebrities own up to their plastic surgery procedures. Most of them either deny it or skirt around the truth by “saying it, but not saying it,” much like Ashlee Simpson did. Fortunately for them, rhinoplasty is a procedure that corrects both nasal form and function. Those who don't want to admit that they were unsatisfied with their natural look can get by with the excuse that they had a deviated septum or breathing problems. Whether or not there is truth to the their reasons, we can only speculate. Here are some of the top celebrities who have had nose jobs for "purely medical reasons."

    Ashley Tisdale

In 2007, Tisdale got a nose job to correct a deviated septum. She also had her doctor smooth out her nasal bridge to correct bumps she received from a childhood fracture. She told People Magazine: “Growing up, I always knew I had a deviated septum on the right side of my nose, which caused trouble breathing. The older I got, the worse it got. I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80 percent deviated and that I had two small fractures on my nose.”

    Cameron Diaz

Interestingly, Cameron Diaz has broken her nose four times. She once stated that she liked the bump on her nose, but after her last injury that resulted from a surfing accident, she said in an interview that she was getting it fixed. “I can’t take it. I cannot breathe at all,” she said.

    Jennifer Aniston

Rumors circulated for years that Jennifer Aniston’s button nose had to be the work of a talented plastic surgeon. In 2007, she admitted that she had the surgery because of a deviated septum.  “Best thing I ever did. I slept like a baby for the first time in years,” she said.

The decision to get plastic surgery is a personal one, as is the decision to share that information with others. Although plastic surgery is becoming more commonly accepted, there are still many who would rather not draw attention to their decision. At the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery, we respect all patients’ desires and are committed to confidentiality and providing the best rhinoplasty results possible.  If you are interested in the rhinoplasty procedure, contact top Ohio plastic surgeon Dr. Shah at (614) 3222500 to schedule a consultation.
