Make Belotero Your Injectable of Choice

    Published on December 31, 2018

Belotero is one of three hyaluronic-acid fillers that are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is approved to smooth away moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, leaving you with younger-looking skin.

This amazing dermal filler rehydrates your skin and provides a radiant appearance. It is injected into the dermis and evenly integrates with your own dermal tissues, enhancing your facial contours.

Belotero consists of non-toxic substances that are injected under the skin to volumize. It is a safe treatment for almost everyone above the age of 18.

    Why Belotero?

As we age, our skin loses its youthful appearance due to its diminished production of natural volumizers and moisturizers such as hyaluronic acid. This leaves lines and wrinkles where our skin was once youthful.

Belotero instantly plumps up and adds volume to areas that have lost natural hyaluronic acid. Even the finest lines can be treated with Belotero. It is used mostly used on the cheeks, nose, and around the lips.

    How Does Belotero Work?

Belotero has a soft gel-like consistency. It binds with the water in your skin to subtly fill in lines and wrinkles. The concentration and cross-linking of the hyaluronic acid allow it to integrate into the upper dermis of the skin without producing excess swelling. Belotero is designed to provide subtle even results without disrupting the natural contours of your face.

    How Is the Treatment Performed?

Before the procedure, you will need to arrange a consultation at our office. Your medical history will be checked in order to avoid any potential complications. Make sure you bring up any allergies that you may have and any medications or supplements you are currently taking.

Belotero contains lidocaine, which is a local anesthetic that numbs the area to eliminate any pain. You can also request a topical numbing agent to be applied before the procedure. Before administering the injection, the treatment areas will be carefully marked. These areas will be cleaned, and then the Belotero will be injected using a needle syringe.

The areas will be gently massaged in order to distribute the filler evenly for a more natural look. The entire procedure can take 15 minutes to an hour depending on the details of your treatment. Some people may require a touch-up after the initial treatment to fully achieve their desired look.

    After Your Treatment

You will notice the effects of Belotero immediately after treatment. You can return to your regular activities right away, including work.

You are advised to avoid the following for 24 hours after your appointment:
    • Physically strenuous activities
    • Exposure to excessive heat or sun
    • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
    • Alcoholic beverages

    Is Belotero Permanent?

The effect of Belotero will depend on the individual and the area that has been treated. Several patients continue to show a visible improvement nine months after a single treatment. Most clients opt for a follow-up treatment after six to twelve months to maintain their fresh and youthful appearance.
