Breast Implants

The other choice for breast augmentation is the implant.  Breast implants come in a variety of types and shapes.

Saline Breast Implantsare essentially shells filled with sterile salt water.  They offer a uniform shape, firmness and feel and can accommodate a variety of size preferences.  If the shell ever breaks, the sterile water is safely absorbed and expelled by the body.

Silicone Breast Implants are madefrom a shellfilled with silicone gel, which feels very similar to normal breast tissue.

One type of silicone gel breast implant is the Gummy Bear Breast Implant.  Among the advantages of these implants is the fact that, even if the shell were to break, they would maintain their shape.  The silicone gel is thicker and the implant firmer than traditional implants.  These implants are shaped, not round and are more tapered towards the top with a greater projection at the bottom.

A Round Breast Implant will make the breast appear fuller than the Gummy Bear Breast Implant and can achieve more projection.

Smooth Breast Implants can offer the softest feel of all the breast implants and can move within the breast implant pocket, giving them a smooth and natural motion.
