This 39 year old woman came to see the board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bivik Shah at the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery with unhappiness about the appearance of her abdomen (belly). He spoke with her about the many options to improve her stomach; however the best solution for her was the mini-abdominoplasty (mini-tummy tuck). The mini-abdominoplasty entails an incision along the lower abdomen (not quite hip-to-hip) that is easily hidden by underwear or a bikini. The loose skin is then removed and the remaining is pulled nice and tight for a smooth, flat look. As you can see here in the after photo, the belly button appears pulled. This is because the belly button is not “reshaped” as it is in a full-abdominoplasty. This procedure takes about six weeks of recovery time before you’ll be back to your full ability. The after photo here was taken a year and a half after her procedure.
