This 59 year old woman came to The Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery for an Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) She did have gastric bypass years prior to her visit. As a result she was left with a lot of excess weight on her belly. This weight gave her many problems with rashes and back aches. Also, it was difficult for her to find clothes that she could wear comfortably. She met with the board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bivik Shah and he told her about the Fleur De Leis Tummy Tuck. With this procedure, the excess skin is removed horizontally and vertically. With a standard tummy tuck only the excess skin is removed horizontally. As you can see, this patient has the scar that goes up and down and across her panty line. The after photo was taken a month and a half after surgery and her scars will continue to heal over the next year and a half!
