This 45 year old woman came to The Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery from Charleston, WV. She had gastric bypass previously and as a result she was left with excess skin and fat on her abdomen and around her sides. The only way for her to get rid of this is to have this weight cut out. The board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bivik Shah performed what is called the Fleur De Leis Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). This type of tummy tuck leaves the patient with a scar that runs hip to hip along the panty line and then a vertical car that runs up the middle of their belly. This type of incision allows for all the skin to be pulled down tightly as well as pulled to the midline tightly for an all over smooth look. This patients after photo was taken a year and a half after her surgery and as you can see, the scar is hardly visible!
