Rhinoplasty Procedure

After anesthesia is administered, rhinoplasty is performed using one of two incision methods. During an open rhinoplasty, incisions are made across the columella (tissue between the nostrils), while a closed rhinoplasty involves making incisions entirely inside of the nostrils. Both techniques require the soft tissues of the nose to be lifted in order to remove and re-sculpt the bone and cartilage. If breathing problems or the inner function of the nose needs improvement, then tissues inside will be restructured, and the nostrils may also be reshaped.

Rhinoplasty positively alters the size and/or shape of the nose to drastically improve a person’s facial appearance. Typically, patients are extremely satisfied with their new look and often develop a stronger sense of self-confidence once the final results become apparent.
