It is important to keep in mind that insurance only pays for things that make you feel better not look better or if there has been trauma that caused the problem.. Therefore, insurance will only pay for your surgery if you have problems breathing or your nose is severely deformed. This usually means a septoplasty or removal of the septum or the placement of spreader grafts.
If you want your nose to look better, then insurance will not pay for your rhinoplasty plastic surgery.
Many patients have two issues – breathing problems and they want their nose to look better. In this situation, insurance will pay for the portion involved in correcting the breathing issues, but then the patient would be responsible for the portion involved in improving the look of the nose. This means that the anesthesia, facility fees would be separated and that portion related to the cosmetic surgery (rhinoplasty or making the nose look better), would be the patients responsibility
