HOW DO RESTYLANE & PERLANE WORK?

Restylane and Perlane are injectable fillers gels that are used to replace lost volume due to aging of the face.  As one ages, collagen, hyaluronic acids and the structural support of the skin diminishes.  This can lead to sagging of the facial tissues, wrinkles, folds, and depressions.  Restylane and Perlane are used to restore this lost volume and structure, instantly lifting the skin and improving the appearance of facial lines and folds.  These products are a manufactured form of natural substances found in the skin and have a very good safety profile.  With time the body absorbs the product and your folds return to baseline but do not worsen.

HOW LONG DO RESTYLANE & PERLANE LAST? 

The amount of time that Restylane or Perlane lasts depends on where in the face the product is placed.  In the nasolabial folds or smile lines and cheeks, the products last 9-12 months.  This means that you only have to have treatments once a year.  In the  areas around the mouth and in the lips, the product lasts for about 6 months.  Repeated injection at the 3 months or 6 months can extend the longevity to 24 months for treatment of the smile lines.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF RESTYLANE & PERLANE TREATMENTS?

The most commonly reported side effects of treatment with Restylane and Perlane are redness, swelling, bruising at the injection site.  Itching and discoloration are other possible side effects.  Most side effects are mild to moderate and usually resolve within a week.

• Restylane and Perlane are used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and lines of the face.
