This 59 year old woman came to the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery to enhance the appearance of her belly (abdomen). Her stomach was her problem area as she was unable to lose weight and excess skin there. She wanted a flatter look without excess skin sagging. She met with the board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bivik Shah, to discuss her options. Together they decided on a tummy tuck. Within this procedure, the incision is made from hip to hip along the top of the panty line. Then the abdominal muscles are tightened and all the excess skin and fat is completely removed from the patient. This patient had a total of 3.6lbs removed just from her belly! The scar will continue to look better and better over the time of a year and a half. Also, the scar is very easily hidden by clothing or even a bikini! The after photo here was taken 7 months after her procedure.
