This 30 year old woman from Lima, Ohio came to The Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery for an Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). She had a significant amount of excess skin and fat on her stomach that she wished to get rid of. Dr. Bivik Shah performed the procedure by making an incision from hip to hip and cutting out all of her excess skin and fat. The abdominal muscles are then pulled tight with a stitch. Finally, the skin is pulled down tight for a nice smooth look. Overall, the weight of skin and fat that Dr. Shah removed totaled 3.4lbs. The after photo here was taken two and a half months after her surgery. The scar will continue to heal over the next year and a half before it looks its absolute best!
