This 26 year old woman came to the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery for a mini-mastopexy (breast lift) and breast augmentation (implants). She had wanted the implants for quite some time as she was dissatisfied with her lack of breast tissue. After meeting with the board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bivik Shah, she learned that the implants alone will NOT correct her mild breast sag. This is when she decided upon a mini-mastopexy. With a mini-mastopexy, the incision is made around the nipple, excess skin is removed (not breast tissue) and then the breast skin is pulled tight, lifting the nipple and making the breast more firm and tight. The after photo here was taken four months after the procedure. The scar will continue to heal over time and will look its absolute best after a year and a half.
